A driver's license, state ID card, passport, or military ID works. The notary is required to verify the identity of every signer.
Don't sign ahead of time. For most documents, the notary must watch you sign or hear you acknowledge your signature in person.
Everyone whose signature needs to be notarized must appear in person with their own ID.
